After breakfast, depart camp and drive to Ngorongoro. Descend into the Crater for a game drive with picnic lunch boxes. Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the planet’s largest intact volcanic caldera, created by an eruption 2 million years ago. Its 600m tall walls enclose diverse habitats – acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands – hosting over 30,000 animals, from elephants to the rare black rhinoceros, and iconic predators.
