Overview

Mount Meru is the fifth-highest mountain peak in Africa and a dormant stratovolcano located 70 km west of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Standing at 4,562 meters above sea level, it’s visible from Kilimanjaro on a clear day.

Mount Meru is situated in Arusha National Park within the Arusha Region of Tanzania. The mountain last erupted between October and December 1910.
